This photo shows the mail room at the Belfast. One of the many hardships they faced while aboard was having to wait to send and receive mail from their loved ones, just like Robbie and Cecilia did in the novel.
At the Florence Nightingale Museum, we learned about her upbringing and life as a nurse and how her coming of age related to Briony. Both were very similiar but different. They shared a passion for literature and nursing.
In the Propaganda exhibit at the British Library, we analyzed the propaganda of today. My favorite part was this giant screen. In the middle it showed a controversial topic then all around it listed positive, negative and neutral feedback on the topic. It touched into pathos because it really appealed to your emotional side. Propaganda is a big part of coming of age as a writer because as a writer, like Briony, one must write with an open mind.
Just like Briony, Florence was also had an older sister. They both were very similar in personality. Both had an imaginative side, while remained more reserved than their sisters.
Florence and Briony both experienced first hand coming of age as a writer. This photograph symbolized all the letters and books she had written while laying in bed.

I really liked your post this week, Morgan! I thought the photo of the bed at the Florence Nightingale Museum was awesome. It really captured how important writing was throughout her life! I also liked how you incorporated the novel as well. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteGood job, Morgan! I thought you did a really good job explaining what Propaganda is and how it related to our topic and novel for the week. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteThe social network and propaganda was my favorite part, too! The bed was also very cool and I love how you put it in your blog because it tied so well into the novel and the theme for this week!
ReplyDeleteGreat job this week! I really like your picture and caption about the propaganda today. I agree with you, the propaganda was most interesting to me too because I think we can really relate with it. I feel like it really ties in with the novel for this week. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteMorgan, Great propaganda example! I thought that was the most interesting part too! It was neat being able to see things in the past and then being able to relate to something we are around like Lauren said! Good job :)
